On Friday May 20, 2011, LHS was pleased to unveil the Alan Sweeney portrait, created by Marylou Chibirka. The oringial portrait was presented to Alan's wife, Judy, as a gift from her friends and family. The LHS also purchased a copy of the portrait for its collection.

In June, the LHS Board of Directors approved the Building and Grounds Committee's suggestion to hang the portrait in the main hall of the Catlin House and rename the room in honor of Alan Sweeney. The portrait was hung on August 19 and plans are underway to make additional improvements.
